--Know Your Joe Information--
Over the last several years this small region of Ethiopia has been on specialty coffee’s radar due to the quality and distinctiveness of its processing of the coffee cherry.

The Guji Zone is very close to the more widely known Yirgacheffe Zone, but the difference in the coffee flavors would let you believe they are on opposite sides of the country. Tradidionally in the region, the coffees are Natural Processed (no washing stations needed: just by-hand processing), but Guji has invested in washing stations and depulpers to deliver a well-rounded, flavorful washed coffee.

The flavors vary from crop to crop and from harvest to harvest more than with its neighbor as well. For our batch, we are astounded with the watermelon and peach nectar notes we coax out of the coffee in the roast, and even more pleased with the heavier body of the cup. The tea-like body expected with coffee from this region is not present.
