--Know Your Joe Biography--
A First for the United States.
Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, has not been known for their coffees. Very little coffee made it outside Myanmar except via unofficial back channels. Governmental restrictions, trade embargoes, and lack of local interest has stymied coffee production.
Until now.
Join us in enjoying the fruits of Mr. U Sai Wan Maing's labor. He has managed to procure a license and has exported the first of hopefully many containers of coffees to the United States and Japan.
Sai's estate is immaculate: beautifully organized and tended fields and a tidy washing station. The coffees are grown in the shade of silver oak trees and were the winner of this year's Myanmar Specialty Coffee Cupping Competition. He has also developed a deep relationship with our importer to ensure high quality coffees for this and many years to come.
